The marketing and sales industry never stops growing. Why? Consumers are always buying and companies are always selling. Large clients seek to increase their customer base through various marketing methods. So, which method is the most effective? Face-to-face direct marketing and sales, however, large corporations are so massive that it’s nearly impossible to interact with the average consumer. This is why they outsource to direct marketing and sales firms, such as E&L Global Communications, to market their product or service. These clients love us because we have proven-to-work systems, we are cost effective, and we guarantee a 100% return-on-investment! It’s no wonder why clients choose E&L Global Communications to represent them, such as its newest client, Ooma!
Who is Ooma?

“Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal.” (Kevin Kruse, Forbes Contributor)
How does one define leadership? More importantly, what makes a great leader? At E&L Global Communications, our 8 core values are the ingredients that make up our definition of leadership. Through repeated actions, executed by even the highest ranking in our firm, leadership becomes not just a destination, but a continuous process of development and improvement.
Leaders are committed to their work.
Great leaders keep their end goals in mind! They have a clear vision of what they want their team to accomplish. A leader’s dedication lies in helping his/her team reach its goals because this ultimately helps the leader achieve his/her own goals.
Leaders set the pace.
They are the record holders, the go-to people, and the all-star trainers of the office.
It’s not because of talent; it’s because of work ethic. E&L Global Communications believes that if a person wants something bad enough, they will work hard and develop the skills needed to get it!
Leaders never stop learning.
They understand the importance of humility and that there is always room improvement. Leaders are self-aware and know what they can get better at. Whether it’s through reading a business book or receiving advice from a mentor, the leaders at E&L Global Communications are always seeking to become the best versions of themselves!
Leaders give back.
They seek to help others less fortunate because by setting this example, others follow in their path! E&L Global Communications hosts fundraising events for organizations, such as The Ronald McDonald House and Operation Smile, as a way to give back to the community!
Leaders stay positive.
They never underestimate the power of a positive attitude. At moments of triumph and tribulation, their mood stays consistent. This ability to protect their emotions and remain optimistic sets the energy for the rest of the team. As we say, more people like Tigger than Eeyore, right?!
Leaders inherently do the right thing.
They do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do. In representing the caliber of clientele that we do, it is imperative that leaders within E&L Global Communications act with high character and morality at all times. We value our partnership with our client, their customers, and our team, and would never want to jeopardize that by taking a shortcut in business.
Leaders love a good challenge.
They know that in order to get the team results they desire, they must be willing to set the pace and throw out a few challenges here and there to keep everyone on their toes! We value competitiveness in a leader because we know they will be driven long after external motivational factors fade. The internal fire that fuels an athlete to practice when their entire body aches are what also fuels leaders within E&L Global Communications.
Leaders remain humble.
They are confident, but not arrogant. They know the day they have the mindset that they’ve arrived, they will fall from grace just as quickly. A true leader knows they must continue to ask questions, seek knowledge and learn from others in positions they desire while remaining likable and approachable.
While there are many values that create great leaders, we know that by focusing our efforts on just a few we will master them. It’s one of the most famous annual sporting events in the United States. It’s where champions are made. It’s March Madness.
Basketball is a huge topic of conversation at E&L Global Communications, especially during March! As we anxiously await the Final Four this weekend, we have chosen to share an exclusive interview with our very own collegiate basketball player – our VP of Marketing, Meshak!
So, Meshak, how did you initially get interested in basketball?
I initially got interested in basketball by staying up late and sneaking up in the living room so that I could catch the Lakers game at 4-5 AM. I fell in love with the sport just by watching it.
Now that’s dedication! Who did you play for in college and which position did you play?
I played for a small school in Southern Indiana called Vincennes University as a Point Guard.
We have to ask, who is your favorite basketball player of all time?
That would be none other than Kobe Bryant!
Kobe Bryant is an amazing basketball player! Now, on to college basketball. We know you love March Madness, but what is your favorite aspect of it?
The non-stop basketball games – the underdog story is always thrilling!
Agreed! Next, we think we can guess this based on fan memorabilia in your office (haha), but who is your favorite collegiate team and why?
That’s easy – The North Carolina Tar Heels! I love the legendary coach, Dean Smith, and the history of the program.
Nice choice! And who is your favorite collegiate player?
Nigel Hayes (a Forward for the University of Wisconsin); he plays his heart out and stands up for what he believes in!
We’re going to play devil’s advocate here and ask, who is your least favorite collegiate team?
Haha, that would be the Duke Blue Devils. When they were beat by South Carolina this year, I really enjoyed that.
On that note, what is your favorite collegiate rivalry?
UNC vs Duke – the excitement and anticipation is like no other!
Who do you predict will win the National Championship?
UNC is going to win it all and cut down the nets in April! I can’t wait to see it happen!
Love the confidence! Last question, how has playing basketball helped in your professional career?
It has really taught me the fundamentals of leadership and how to be proactive instead of reactive. If execution doesn’t begin with planning and preparation, your goal then becomes a wish. Competition has always been a core value for me. By playing sports my whole life, I have learned that you can have results or excuses, but not both.
Thank you, Meshak, for taking the time to share your all of your insights! We look forward to the Final Four games this weekend and the National Championship party in the office Monday! That’s happening, right? 🙃😉
Steve Jobs famously said, “it doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” There is no better way to summarize the feelings we have about Suzanne Neforos than to say we followed Job’s quote and hired one of the smartest, most energetic young professionals we’ve ever met!
Born and raised in North Olmsted, OH, Suzanne has been a social butterfly since birth! Described by her family as outgoing, determined, and creative, she was involved in nearly every activity under the sun as a child and teen – french club, key club, musical theater, thespian troupe, Concert Choir, and a vocal jazz group! Attending Kent State after high school due to the proximity to family and homey feel, Suzanne knew she had found her home for the next 4 years. She kept busy between gospel choir, Relay for Life, American Marketing Association and as a legacy to the Delta Gamma sorority! It was there as a New Member Educator to incoming sisters that Suzanne found her love for recruitment and training.
Majoring in Managerial Marketing and minoring in International Business/Communication Studies, Suzanne knew from high school that she wanted to be in a sales management position, preferably as her own boss. Something about dressing up in a suit, building strong relationships with clients and helping improve their business operations intrigued her. Immediately after college, she started working as a Marketing Specialist for a chemical company, traveling 5 days a week to different states to train sales representatives. Learning extensive skills in negotiations, acquisitions, and face to face communications, Suzanne left to start a career in pharmaceutical sales.
Something interesting happened, though, and despite experience in business to business sales, a 4-year degree, and all the necessary certifications, Suzanne had trouble finding gainful employment. It was then she ran across the Management Development Program at E&L Global Communications and never looked back. A believer in performance-based growth, Suzanne excelled into both leadership and management roles; so much that she was offered an opportunity last year to oversee the entire Human Resources Department. Since her promotion, E&L Global Communications has grown into a respected small business in the local Detroit/Troy community and a haven for marketing/sales professionals looking for more career growth.
On the weekends, she LOVES to try new restaurants – preferably sushi and Mexican. She’s a fur mom to two, Shameless (on Netflix) binge-watcher, barre extraordinaire, THE biggest fan of the real housewife series (ATL, NYC, OC – all of them!), and a believer in spending quality time with the people that matter most to her – her family and significant other. She lives by the strength and grace she learned from her mother, the knowledge that she is exactly where she is in life because of her efforts, and the desire to make E&L Global Communications the most sought after marketing firm in the Midwest. This isn’t the first or the last you’ll hear of this firecracker, as the pride we have for Suzanne’s character and work is immense. To keep up to date with her career growth and office shenanigans, follow Suzanne on E&L’s Twitter, @eandlglobalcomm, and to read more of her biography, check here!
E&L Global Communications in Troy, Michigan recently achieved a milestone of being in business for 4 years, and where statistically most small businesses fail within the first 5 years, our firm is only just hitting our stride! My role as the VP of Marketing has been the career I have already dreamed for and has allowed me to grow a remarkable amount over the last years. I wanted to share with you 4 “keys to success” I’ve learned in the 4-year history of E&L Global Communications and hopefully shed some light on attributes that lead to long term career growth!
1.You Must Have Vision
Overall, the last 4 years have been incredible and the adoration I have for E&L is tremendous! This company has produced business partnership, friendships, love, support, growth, travel, and everything in between. There are businesses that you can build alone and businesses you can build with friends, and our company would be nothing without the loyal and supportive team we employ. As my favorite quote by Larry Wall goes, “the road to success is always under construction!” Thanks, Troy and Michigan for a great 4 years and cheers to much more to come!
Internships have become an integral part of the college experience, spanning the length of most students junior and senior years! In an effort to broaden classroom teachings into the business world, it is encouraged to accept roles in industries both within your major and without. Following the guidance of his school, Oakland University, Ryan Smith began exploring opportunities and was immediately attracted to E&L Global Communication’s Human Resources internship! Despite his major in communications, Ryan knew 4 months immersed in HR would be sure to prepare him for graduation. What better way to improve his people skills and confidence in communications than to represent employees in the workplace?
Fast forward through his interview process (obviously he aced it!), and Ryan was offered an internship back in August that would come to shape him professionally in more ways than one! As his time in the office comes to an end, we’ve asked him to reflect on his 4 months with us and share what truly differentiates E&L’s HR role from being another coffee fetching, errand running internship!
Call us sports aficionados or addicts (according to our significant others, haha) but here at E&L Global Communications, we are all bonded by our love of competition and athleticism. With the Olympics just ending, college and professional football starting, the Stanley Cup Playoff games and basketball around the corner, our spirits are THIS high! So we thought, why not share our passion, knowledge and jokes with other fans out there and correlate our first love (work) with our second love (sports)!
We’d like to introduce you to Meshak Faton, the LA Lakers #1 groupie, Suzanna Neforos, who’s #AllIn for the Cavs, Ryan Smith, who’s crazy for the Colts and Kyle Pomicter, the Lions only fan (just kidding about the last part Kyle, haha)! We asked our panel a series of 10 sports related questions and encourage you if you’re a Seahawks or Manziel fan, avert your eyes NOW cause these guys aren’t holding back!

And that’s a wrap, folks! These 4, all dominant forces within E&L Global Communications, are the QB’S of their respective departments. Whether spearheading marketing, recruitment, human resources or our internship team, they portray the qualities of every successful athlete; grit, perseverance, talent and ambition. While our personalities and taste in teams may differ, our commitment level to our client and goals are unanimous. Like a sports team, we’re constantly looking for our next Michael Jordan and encourage you to check out our Instagram @eandlglobalcomm to check out our next draft opening!
