Katie Kierchoff- the intern we’ll never be able to replace!

Posted on Updated on

About a month ago, E&L Global Communications said goodbye to our winter intern, Katie Kierchoff. If you’ve followed us on any of our social media sites you’ve come to realize how monumental she’s been in our growth and expansion and how difficult it will be for us to replace her! That’s why this month’s blog is going to be a little Q&A session we had with her before she left!

Before we hop into the Q&A, here’s a little background on this #bossbabe. Katie attends Concordia University on an athletic scholarship. She holds two jobs and is a full-time athlete (WOAH!). During her winter break, she didn’t miss a beat and decided to take on an internship with our company as an Operations Manager Intern. She was crucial in that role and even branched out into a leadership position during her short 8-week internship.

Her favorite coffee drink is simple, a vanilla latte and her favorite food is, of course, TACOS! Chicken with some avocado to be exact. Katie is always 100% herself. She describes herself as really outgoing and not shy at all.Long-term, her goal is to travel around the world, touching base in every continent, even Antarctica. So far she’s been to Mexico, Canada, and just recently went to Niagara Falls. Over the summer she’s going to Austria, then she is traveling to Berlin an Prague for lacrosse where she is going to compete in the Prague cup. It’s not the main national team but it is a smaller national team and she’s PUMPED!

Okay, so now that you know how crazy awesome she is, here’s our interview with Katie Kiechoff, E&L Global Communications winter Operations Management Intern.

What do you study? I’m a Junior in College Concordia University and studying Marketing. I’m looking to move into Digital Media marketing in the future

What were you looking for in an internship? I was really just looking for experience in any business. I wanted to understand how to work in an office more than just grabbing coffee and filing papers or answering the phones. I really wanted to apply the strategies I’m learning in school.

Where have you been able to apply those strategies most? While working in operations where I worked with the software, made sure the equipment ran properly, and everything connected between the customers and the representatives. I took on a leadership role in the operations end quickly where I became not just an intern but was responsible for high end answers. I’ve had a lot of experience in a leadership realm in sports but this was really me taking on a leadership level in the office where it was high stakes; money on the line and customers/client relations were involved.

What sports do you play? I play Lacrosse at Concordia and am actually the team captain. I also teach private lessons and coach lacrosse. At Concordia, I participate in Athletes in Action, which is a community group within the campus for your sport. Each team has 1 representative and that rep runs meeting for the team and then that rep takes that information to the team. It’s more for comraderies and facetime than logistics

What did you like most about working at E&L Global Communications? I loved the friendly environment and positive environment. Even if you make a mistake they won’t shove your face in it. They are going to show you how to do better and then when you do well or just even okay they give you constant positive reinforcement that it makes you want to do more and do better. You become invested in their happiness because it’s so genuine.

What did you like least? (laughs) “Oh man, that’s a hard question. This isn’t really in their control but getting up super early because the office is about an hour away with traffic.”

What would you recommend to anyone who works at E&L Global Commuications or to any future interns? Don’t be afraid to take on a leadership role. During my first week I was nervous to take on a leadership role because I was super new with the company and I was afraid to step on anyone’s toes  because they were there longer than me. I eventually branched out because I realized that for me to effectively do what I needed to do in the operations role I needed to have confidence and needed to act as if I have power in the room because that’s how I was going to demand respect and get my job done.

So there you have it, folks! What’s the secret sauce to being an awesome intern at E&L Global Communications? Be yourself and don’t be afraid to shine bright! Send your resumes to for consideration!

The marketing and sales industry never stops growing. Why? Consumers are always buying and companies are always selling. Large clients seek to increase their customer base through various marketing methods. So, which method is the most effective? Face-to-face direct marketing and sales, however, large corporations are so massive that it’s nearly impossible to interact with the average consumer. Shine Bright Like A Diamond: E&L’s Spotlight On Suzanne

Posted on Updated on

Steve Jobs famously said, “it doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” There is no better way to summarize the feelings we have about Suzanne Neforos than to say we followed Job’s quote and hired one of the smartest, most energetic young professionals we’ve ever met!

Born and raised in North Olmsted, OH, Suzanne has been a social butterfly since birth! Described by her family as outgoing, determined, and creative, she was involved in nearly every activity under the sun as a child and teen – french club, key club, musical theater, thespian troupe, Concert Choir, and a vocal jazz group! Attending Kent State after high school due to the proximity to family and homey feel, Suzanne knew she had found her home for the next 4 years. She kept busy between gospel choir, Relay for Life, American Marketing Association and as a legacy to the Delta Gamma sorority! It was there as a New Member Educator to incoming sisters that Suzanne found her love for recruitment and training.

Majoring in Managerial Marketing and minoring in International Business/Communication Studies, Suzanne knew from high school that she wanted to be in a sales management position, preferably as her own boss. Something about dressing up in a suit, building strong relationships with clients and helping improve their business operations intrigued her. Immediately after college, she started working as a Marketing Specialist for a chemical company, traveling 5 days a week to different states to train sales representatives. Learning extensive skills in negotiations, acquisitions, and face to face communications, Suzanne left to start a career in pharmaceutical sales.

Something interesting happened, though, and despite experience in business to business sales, a 4-year degree, and all the necessary certifications, Suzanne had trouble finding gainful employment. It was then she ran across the Management Development Program at E&L Global Communications and never looked back. A believer in performance-based growth, Suzanne excelled into both leadership and management roles; so much that she was offered an opportunity last year to oversee the entire Human Resources Department. Since her promotion, E&L Global Communications has grown into a respected small business in the local Detroit/Troy community and a haven for marketing/sales professionals looking for more career growth.

On the weekends, she LOVES to try new restaurants – preferably sushi and Mexican. She’s a fur mom to two, Shameless (on Netflix) binge-watcher, barre extraordinaire, THE biggest fan of the real housewife series (ATL, NYC, OC – all of them!), and a believer in spending quality time with the people that matter most to her – her family and significant other. She lives by the strength and grace she learned from her mother, the knowledge that she is exactly where she is in life because of her efforts, and the desire to make E&L Global Communications the most sought after marketing firm in the Midwest. This isn’t the first or the last you’ll hear of this firecracker, as the pride we have for Suzanne’s character and work is immense. 4 Things I’ve Learned In 4 Years

Posted on Updated on

E&L Global Communications in Troy, Michigan recently achieved a milestone of being in business for 4 years, and where statistically most small businesses fail within the first 5 years, our firm is only just hitting our stride! My role as the VP of Marketing has been the career I have already dreamed for and has allowed me to grow a remarkable amount over the last years. I wanted to share with you 4 “keys to success” I’ve learned in the 4-year history of E&L Global Communications and hopefully shed some light on attributes that lead to long term career growth!

1.You Must Have Vision

“I remember getting in the marketing/sales industry 5 years ago in hopes to gain E&L-Global-Commnications-FBFexperience, develop my communication ability and have just enough skills to be marketable for that ‘big dream job’ one day. Somewhere in the back of my mind, though, I always remember my mother’s voice saying ‘In life, you’re going to work hard and long; remember to get to a point where you do it for yourself.’ I couldn’t get over that thought. It’s okay to follow, but I knew I wanted to lead one day and have the opportunity to call the shots in my career.

I also knew I wanted to live a life filled with meaningful things, purpose, and one where I could help people around me become better and get more than they ever envisioned for in their careers. One of my coaches always said ‘if you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll end up someplace else’ and it helped me focus and be intentional about the things I wanted. The success I want to create for our company and anyone that steps foot within our doors is only done so through extreme vision. Everyone is capable of having a vision. All that is left is the decision to implement it!

2. Character, Commitment & Courage

“You don’t run an organization without the 3Cs: the character to do what’s right, not what’s easy, the commitment to finish what you said you were going to do, and the courage to overcome anything that comes in the way. Let’s be honest it sounds easy, but it’s really not. You wake some days and you’re fired up ready to take on anything, and some days you wake up feeling like you just don’t have it in you. Those are the days where character evolves, commitment gets tested and courage is a MUST. When you’re able to get over those days 1, 2, and 3 times, you’re on the way to accomplishing great things.”

3. Work Ethic & Tenacity

“Ever heard someone say ‘Talent means nothing unless combined with effort”. That’s my belief. Size, intellect, beauty – none of it offers the same long-term results as work ethic.ryan-smith-career-fair Work ethic is a value you can’t teach;.it’s an internal feeling that gets you up when you don’t want to, the DESIRE to do it for someone other than yourself. It takes tenacity to keep going when you fail and a whole lot of internal drive to be highly successful in business. There’s more people in entry level and mid-management roles than CEOs for a reason. That reason is work ethic and tenacity! Our recruitment process at E&L Global Communications is so selective because finding individuals who have that insatiable hunger is challenging…but worthwhile when we do!

4. Authenticity & Transparency

“My mother always said this is a delicate one. People will not always like it, but they will respect you for it. Being authentic and transparent within the marketing & sales industry is vital when representing a client as distinguished as ours. Within the office, I focus on authenticity by coaching our team through praise and mentorship, but also a swift kick in the butt when needed! I teach every individual at E&L Global Communications that the more confident you are about yourself and where you are going in life, the more people will be attracted to and want to follow you.”

Overall, the last 4 years have been incredible and the adoration I have for E&L is tremendous! This company has produced business partnership, friendships, love, support, growth, travel, and everything in between. There are businesses that you can build alone and businesses you can build with friends, and our company would be nothing without the loyal and supportive team we employ. As my favorite quote by Larry Wall goes, “the road to success is always under construction!” Thanks, Troy and Michigan for a great 4 years and cheers to much more to come!

Celebrating Milestones at E&L Global Communications

Posted on Updated on

It is with great pride that we announce today as the 4th anniversary since our Founder/VP of Marketing, Meshak, stepped into his current position here at E&L Global Communications. They say that time flies when you’re having fun, but WOW have the years flown by. Under Meshak’s leadership, our company has flourished into one of Michigan’s premier outsourced marketing and sales firms and our projected client and office growth is something to celebrate. We asked him to share with us 4 things that led to this 4 year milestone and his answers reminded us of what a quality leader we have heading our company.

The first ideal Meshak attributes E&L Global Communication’s success to is that we focus on the big rocks first.  No matter one’s model, every business is responsible to 2 parties; their employees and their customers/shareholders.  Meshak learned from a very young business age, that nothing else is more important than providing a positive, vibrant and educational work environment for your team, who in turn translate that good energy when taking care of customers. It’s actually really simple, he feels. Take care of your people and they will take care of your business.

The next objective Meshak leads his to team to focus on is self-improvement. He strives to motivate our office to be better citizens in the Troy community, better parents, husbands, wives, business leaders, etc. Every week he proposes self-help business books, motivational videos, business articles, and travels to conferences nationally.  The business our company is built off of is the idea that small improvements over an extended period of time, create strong managers. “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” Meshak quotes.

Thirdy, Meshak tells us, E&L Global Communications believes.  We truly believe that we represent the best telecommunication client in the United States. We believe that our Management Development Program can shape peoples futures and change lives and most importantly, we believe that the most talented and charismatic team in Michigan reside in our office . Confidence is contagious and ours is off the charts.

Lastly, we dream.  We foresee a MASSIVE future in store for E&L Global Communications and will share it with anyone willing to listen. Based on client demand, we project to be in 25 locations by 2020. From the east coast to west coast, no corner of the United States can escape our vision. Purpose, passion and a dream; we have it all! Follow us on Twitter for updates as we take on the next 4 years with our VP fearlessly leading the way!
